On saturday just past, I did a collaborative body painting, stop-motion animation photoshoot in protest of the use of fossel fuels, the tar sands, oil tankers and the pipeline. Here is a teaser from the photos and animation to come. The imagery I have chosen is inspired by the documentary SPOIL, by EP Films in collaboration with Pacific Wild. The film follows the International League of Conservation Photographers as they team up with the Gitga'at Nation of British Columbia to document the Great Bear Rainforest before an oil pipeline changes it forever.
